ALL ABOUT US

Already in 1894 in Breslau, our company founder Ludwig Beeck began to design and manufacture waterglass based pure mineral paints. The original formulations are still in use today for the preservation of monuments and remain to convince thanks to their huge color versatility and enormous durability.

BEECK PURE CRYSTALLINE FINISH is the mineral paint system for particularly valuable historical building substances and the fundament of BEECK mineral paints’ good reputation regarding the preservation of monuments.

New building materials and new fields of application require new products. Therefore, in the past 100 years the range of products was continously enlarged and modified to meet actual esthetic and building physics requirements. Today, BEECK offers a mature and practice-proven range of mineral paint systems for any suitable surface indoors and outdoors.

However, in the 50s and 60s of the last century BEECK with its consistent attitude and conviction got plucked. With the large-surface use of a new, presumed troubleless and cheap type of products - the artificial resin dispersion paints - mineral paints with all their advantages were soon forgotten until the number of building damages caused by improper application of artificial resins on porous mineral surfaces had increased almost immeasurably.

A great number of precious plaster and natural stone buildings suffers still today from the already then predictable damages caused by film-forming artificial resin coatings.

After those hard years for a mineral paint manufacturer who maintained his consistent attitude, the former owner, Gerhard Oesterle, dared to make a completely new start in 1972 with BEECK: He moved the company from Krefeld to Laichingen in the Swabian Alb and had modern production facilities built including a design and application lab.

Based on the knowledge and experience with inorganic mineral paints, further development and production of natural-organically bound coating systems were pushed forward at the same time - marketed since 1968 under the brand name AGLAIA (from Greek: the shining, the shine of beauty).

From the very beginning, the BEECK team has relied on natural raw materials such as linseed oil, damar and milk casein and today produces not only mineral paints but an equally large range of plant based natural paints for applications on all common building materials especially wood in all its forms of use.

Under the management of the chemist Dr.Thomas Oesterle, BEECK now develops and produces a range of consistent mineral and plant based paints that may be considered unique in this combination.
